The TIB bus network improves its services increasing frequencies in the new summer timetables from Tuesday 1 April

Starting today, Mallorca's bus services are being strengthened with the entry into force of the summer timetables and the resumption of seven lines for the high season.

With the airport line starting in the Campos area, the entire Aerotib service will be operational and will be maintained throughout the year.

The TIB intercity bus network will be increasing its services starting on Tuesday, 1 April, adding additional buses to existing lines and the launch of seven new lines for the summer season. These improvements are in addition to those already incorporated at the start of March with the reinforcement of the Peguera, Santa Ponça, Valldemossa and Alcúdia Bay lines. Also starting today, all the airport lines will be in service with the A51 line starting to run; this line connects Campos with Son Sant Joan, while work continues to incorporate the new Cala d'Or and Cala Rajada express lines this summer.

This increase in the service is the result of the improvements introduced by the Government to the TIB intercity bus service, as a result of the amendment of the contracts of the three bus concessions in Mallorca, adapting the service to demand and the increase in users in recent years, 20% higher during 2024. This change has also allowed for the expansion of the bus fleet and the provision of all Aerotib lines from various towns and cities to the airport throughout the year.

In the Serra de Tramuntana area, from 1 April, lines 231 Port de Sóller - Alcúdia and 131, which connects Banyalbufar and Estellencs with Andratx and the coastal area of Calvià, will resume service.

On the Llevant coast, the Cala Rajada line starts to run, providing services to Sa Font de Sa Cala (423) and Porto Cristo (424) and, on the Migjorn coast, the Cala Pi - Palma line (505). The Cala Mesquida (422), Cala Bona (425), Cala Mendia (427), Cala d'Or (428) and Cala Mondragó (521) lines are scheduled to start again in mid-April and early May.

Line 401, which connects the Llevant coast to Manacor, Vilafranca, Montuïri, Algaida and Palma, resumes its summer timetable and this year boasts an additional vehicle on the line, allowing more journeys to be added. Thus, during peak hours, buses will run every 25 minutes.

In the North, the 324 Can Picafort - Alcúdia and 325 Alcúdia - Cala Rajada lines start again on 1 April this season. Line 315, which connects Sa Pobla with the bay of Alcúdia, has started its service this year earlier than last year and has been in operation since 1 March. There are plans to further reinforce the Alcúdia Bay service, with the launch of the 323 Alcúdia - Alcanada and 334 Alcúdia - Formentor lines in May, the latter of which will extend its route to the Formentor lighthouse starting 1 June.

In addition, the Can Picafort - Palma line 302 will also increase its services in this area from 1 April with the new summer timetable, which adds two new early morning departures and a new departure from Palma compared to last year. Thus, between 5:39 am and 8 am, there will be six departures from Inca and two from Palma heading to Can Picafort. This increase is in addition to the one that was already undertaken to this line with the incorporation at the beginning of March of two early morning services and two late morning services on the Inca - Can Picafort section. From April, this line will run every 20 minutes in each direction at peak times and services from 5.39 a.m. from Inca to 0.05 a.m. from Can Picafort to serve hotel and catering workers who work both early in the day and late at night.

In the Bay of Pollença area, line 301 Port de Pollença - Palma increases the service by adding three more routes in the direction of Palma and four in the direction of Port de Pollença compared to last year's timetable. In addition, the two early morning services, which only run Monday to Friday in winter, will run all week from Tuesday 1 April. Line 321, from Cala Sant Vicenç, and line 322, which connects Pollença to Port d'Alcúdia, will run the same timetables as last season, adding to them with the incorporation of new services.

Starting in June, the new Cala Rajada - Palma and Cala d'Or - Palma express lines will start to run, offering semi-direct routes to users in these areas. These new services will reduce the current journey time to Palma, as it will not be necessary to transfer between lines. This year, both lines will start in June; however, from next year, these lines will operate throughout the high season from April to October.

Aerotib lines: connecting to the airport all year round.

On Tuesday 1 April, the A51 line between Campos and the airport will resume its services, meaning that all Aerotib lines will be operational. In addition, on the same day, the A11 line, which connects the main coastal towns in Calvià to the airport and which has been in service since 20 December, will extend its route with three new stops and additional departures.

The A32 airport line, which starts in Can Picafort and connects towns such as Alcúdia, Sa Pobla and Inca to Son Sant Joan, has been in operation since 15 March. The A42 line, which runs from Cala Bona to the airport and runs along the Llevant coast, stopping in the towns of Manacor, Vilafranca, Montuïri and Algaida, has been in operation since 24 March.

The airport service will now run all year round, with changes to the timetable and route from November onwards.
