Fares based on a map of zones
- A hop represents a transfer from one area to another.
- Fares range from a minimum of 0 hops to a maximum of 4 hops.
- If travelling within the same zone, the journey is 0 hops. No matter how long a journey is, there is never a higher fare than 4 hops.
- The TIB fare system covers all regional bus, train and metro services on the island of Majorca. That is why it does not apply to either the city of Palma's urban bus network or the Sóller train.
Transfers
If you travel with an Intermodal Card or with your bankcard (debit or credit), you can make up to 2 transfers using 3 different intercity bus, train or metro lines.
To calculate the total cost of a journey, you must add up the number of hops you make on each line.
- Example 1
To travel from Valldemossa to Manacor, changing in Palma
L203, Valldemossa > Palma: 1 hop
L401 or T3, Palma > Manacor: 3 hops
Total for the trip: 4 hops.
- Example 2
To travel from Pollença to Sant Elm making 2 transfers, first in Palma and then in Andratx
L301, Pollença > Palma: 3 hops
L101, Palma > Andratx: 2 hops
L121, Andratx > Sant Elm: 0 hops
The trip is 5 hops, but you only pay the fare for 4 hops.
